Chickens can empathize with individuals that are in danger

Chickens communicate on the same level as some primates. They can use signals to convey intentions. They display feelings like grief, fear, boredom, or happiness. They have long term relationships and long term memory. Day old chicks can recognize basic geometry and do basic arithmetic. Older chickens can solve complex problems.
Unhatched chicks communicate with each other and with their mother. Hens teach their chicks all of life’s skills and modify their teaching based on how quickly its chick is learning.
