Greenhouse gases from animal agriculture

By September 6, 2021No Comments

Animal agriculture is responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than the combined exhaust from all transportation

According to UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) 14.5% to 18% of all global greenhouse gasses are produced from animal agriculture. Global transportation accounts for about 13% of all greenhouse gasses.

Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) claim that USA’s livestock emissions are only 4% of GHG is inaccurate, likely by not calculating the full impact of methane which is 25-100 times more destructive than carbon dioxide on a 20 year timeframe. More here.
