Animal rights are connected to human rights

Fumes of grilled meat, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, near pregnant women cause children to be born with lower body weight and smaller head size. This does not happen when grilling vegetables. Even living near a grilled meat restaurant increases your risk of cancer. Workers in meat grilling occupations risk long-term health impairment.
Modern day slavery is found in agricultural supply chains too, but Human Rights Watch says there “are systematic human rights violations embedded in the meat and poultry industry.” In USA:
- 30% of livestock workers suffer from respiratory illness. More children near factory farms have asthma.
- Psychological trauma from this work is ultra hazardous.
- Crime increases by 2-4 times when a new slaughterhouse is built.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, meat processing workers in USA had a higher rate of infection than other industries, and disproportionately affecting minorities.
