1 pound (453g) of some cheese, like Gouda, has 10% of a low dose of oral morphine

Cheese is the single highest source of saturated fat in the US diet. It packs more cholesterol than steak.
Cheese is addictive. It contains casein, which turns into casomorphin. This is a type of opiate which has about 5% potency of morphine. It is meant to reward the baby cow for drinking its mother’s milk and increase bond between mother and child.
Cheese has a highly concentrated amount of casomorphin. For ex. one pound (453g) of Gouda cheese has 10% of a low dose of oral morphine for humans. One medium pizza has about half pound of cheese on it; Mozzarella and Gouda have similar levels of casein/casomorphin. Although the amount may seem small, micro dosage of morphine are so effective that they are used in clinical treatments. More on cheese addiction in this longer video or the short video below.
