Animal farming waste effects on Dead Zones

Excess nitrates from factory animal farms drains off into coastal waters and create Dead Zones

Waste material from farms gets drained into waterways and end up in the Gulf of Mexico, creating a huge Dead Zone

Dead zones are areas in water bodies around the world in which most life cannot grow. This is caused by an algae bloom. This excess algae starves the water of all oxygen and kills almost all aquatic life. The algae blooms occurs when there are too many nutrients in the sea that algae feed on, like the nitrates from animal manure.

Excess nitrates from factory animal farms drains off into coastal waters creating massive dead zones. Globally there are about 400+ dead zones near the coasts where waste waters collect.
