We already grow enough food to feed the entire world

Every year we grow enough food to feed 10 billion people but the FAO estimates we still have around 800 million people who go hungry. 82% of starving children live in countries where food is fed to animals, and the animals are eaten by western countries. By switching to gaining calories from plants, we can stay healthy and eradicate hunger.
The problem is getting calories from animals is very inefficient:
Humans drink about 5.2 billion gallons of water and eat 21 billion pounds of food each day.
There are around 7.5011 billion people on Earth
Based on rough averages of water at 0.5-1 gallon (0.75 gallons) x 7.5011 billion = 5.626 billion gallons of water and 24.143 billion lbs. of food per day.
Cattle drink about 45 billion gallons of water and eat 135 billion pounds of food each day.
Based on rough averages of 30 gallons of water & 100 lbs. of food per day x 1.468 billion cows worldwide. [Cowspiracy]
